Program Overview

WE HELP MOTHERS WHEN THEY NEED IT MOST

Since our non-profit agency was chartered in 1900, we have placed more than 13,000 children into permanent, loving homes.

For women who are pregnant or who have just delivered a baby, our trained social workers offer free, unbiased counseling support to help explore their options—with complete confidentiality. At CHS, we work with birth mothers and birth fathers during a difficult time, and help them develop a plan that’s best for them and their child. We counsel birth mothers and birth fathers during the pregnancy, and we provide counseling and other support services after the baby is born.

CHS offers the full range of infant adoption services, including a home study, placement, supervision and counseling. Although most of the children served through our infant program are healthy, we also place infants who are medically at risk. Because adoption is a lifelong experience, post-placement adoption services are available to those encountering challenges in the years following placement.
