CHS RECEIVES $100,000 IMPACT 100 GRANT FOR POSSIBILITIES PROJECT

CHS is thrilled to be a recipient of a $100,000 Impact 100 Grant for the Possibilities Project — a collaborative initiative with the Better Housing Coalition.

The Possibilities Project will empower at-risk children aging out of foster care and change the trajectory of their lives. The two-phased initiative will develop and provide the best services, settings, and policies to support and lift this vulnerable population.

The grant will allow CHS – in collaboration with BHC – to launch a program that provides these youth with safe, stable housing and critical support services like employment, transportation, education, life skills training, and adult mentors so they can successfully live independently and make wise choices about their futures.

The program will be based on best practices and create a model that can be replicated throughout Virginia and the U.S.

We believe that opening doors to children aging out of foster care through the Possibilities Project will make a positive, life-changing impact and create a new path to possibilities for Virginia’s at-risk children.
