July 26, 2017 7/26/17 4:00 pm - 7/26/17 9:00 pm

Where: STRANGEWAYS BREWING 2277 Dabney Rd, Richmond, Virginia 23230

CHS would like to invite our friends and families to join our Boards and Staff for a special fundraising event being held at Strangeways Brewing on July 26: Cheers for Charity! If you mention CHS, a portion of the evening’s sales will be donated to support our mission. We look forward to seeing you and your family there!

Strangeways Brewing offers a low-key taproom with tastings, growler fills and outdoor seating. A unique “desire to use the finest ingredients, pursue the imperfect, entertain curiosity and add an element of anomaly to the brewing world is indeed what fuels the strange in Strangeways Brewing.” They are sharing 10% of their proceeds from the evening with CHS, as well as offering a raffle.

BOKA TACO TRUCK will be joining the party as well AND making a contribution. THANKS STRANGEWAYS and BOKA!

July 25, 2017 7/25/17 8:00 am - 7/25/17 4:30 pm

Where:

Fredericksburg and Richmond

JULY 11: CHS FREDERICKSBURG (4701 MARKET STREET)

JULY 25: CHS RICHMOND (4200 FITZHUGH AVE)

Kid’s Club is a day of fun and adoption awareness for children and teens who all share the experience of having been adopted or in foster care. Kid’s Club provides an opportunity to relax and relate to other kids and teens who have a shared connection. Our trained staff will guide children through activities that are fun and adoption-focused. We’ll encourage friendships and social skills-building throughout the day. Parents can trust that they are providing their children with an environment in which they feel included and where our staff can ensure their needs are met in a healthy way.

In July, we are heading out to the water park after our morning activities. For Fredericksburg, we’ll be exploring Great Waves Water Park, and for Richmonders, we’ll be cooling off at Pocahontas State Park Aquatic Center. Slides, pools, and serious fun are in store for all who attend!

Where: Drop off and pick up is at the CHS office in Fredericksburg on July 11 and in Richmond on July 25. Staff or trained volunteers will transport children to and from the park.

Cost: $20 per child. We ask that you send your child with a packed lunch to preserve as much time as possible for fun!

Ages: Kid’s Club is open to children and teens ages 6-18. We are also accepting applications for “Counselors in Training” for teens and young adults ages 16-21. Applicants need to complete an interview and orientation prior to attending.

For more information about Kid’s Club, please contact Sara Buckheit at sara@chsva.org or by calling 804-353-0191 ext. 200.
