Virginia Mercury: Most teens who age out of foster care have trouble getting a driver’s license and it affects everything they do.

Virginia Mercury on Monday published an online article about the difficulties for aged-out foster youth in Virginia to obtain a drivers licence. Cassie Cunningham and Bruin Richardson, who along with CHS’s staff of well-informed social workers, have closely followed this situation for several years as an important element of our program The Possibilities Project, and were interviewed for the article. The Possibilities Project provides housing and wrap around services for aged-out foster youth, including employment guidance and transportation services.
