The Possibilities Project Receives Major Funding From Brookfield Foundation

Continuing its support of The Possibilities Project (TPP), Brookfield Foundation has awarded CHS a two year, $175,000 grant.  Brookfield’s grant will allow TPP, a collaboration between Children’s Home Society and the Better Housing Coalition, to provide housing and full wrap-around supports to youth who have aged-out of the foster care system. Now entering its third year, TPP has just graduated its first participant who completed the full two years of the program.  TPP expects to have several more graduates by year’s end. The strategic support of Foundations like Brookfield, The Community Foundation and The Robins Foundation among others, coupled with inspiring individual support from CHS’s donors has propelled TPP into the spotlight, resulting in numerous awards including the Governor’s best housing program. More importantly, TPP has changed the trajectory of young people’s lives, from one of homelessness and despair to one of stability and hope for the future.

TPP relies predominately on private donations, as very few public funds are available to support aged-out youth. Investments like those made by Brookfield Foundation allow CHS to continue serving this extremely at-risk population. Thank You!!
