Family Check-Up

The Family Check-Up (FCU) is a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach designed to support families with children aged 2-17. This collaborative model empowers parents as experts within their families, focusing on assessment-driven, strength-based strategies to improve parenting skills and overall family well-being.

Through mindful parenting techniques, FCU addresses children’s mental health and behavioral challenges tied to emotional, academic, and adjustment stressors. This short-term service (1-4 months) is flexible, making it ideal for busy families, and is available in-person or virtually.

FCU fosters healthier family communication, effective limit-setting, and motivation for positive change. As part of our Post Adoption Services Program, we offer trauma-informed, best-practice supports to help children heal, thrive, and prevent family disruptions or dissolutions.

CHSVA is now accepting Family Check-Up referrals to be processed in January 2025.
