Meet Families Waiting to Adopt

Timothy and Jennifer Abbott are kind, intentional, and people of faith. They adopted their son Abraham (10) and their daughter Clementine (6) through Children’s Home Society and are ready to adopt a third child. Tim is pastor at Redemption Church and Jenn is a stay-at-home mom. They reside in Richmond, VA in Henrico County. Anne-Catherine Barrett is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet! She is a single female who lives in Dumfries, Virginia. She enjoys traveling, reading, and exploring new restaurants. In the summer, you can find Anne-Catherine at the community pool or participating in outdoor activities. In the wintertime, she can be found inside completing jigsaw puzzles and reading fiction or thriller novels. She is looking forward to taking her child to museums, zoos, and many other trips to provide them with opportunities to explore new people and things. The Metzgers are an active, friendly, and devoted family who have experience with adopting from foster care. Rachel and RJ currently live with their two adopted sons, ages 4 and 7, in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The family enjoys taking road trips, going to farmers’ markets, going camping, going fishing on their boat, watching movies, playing arcade games, and trying new food. Elijah and Cassie have been married for 11 years and have a strong, committed marriage based on common values and beliefs. They have four children: Elisha (10), Gideon (8), Micah (7) and Naomi (2), and they feel prepared to welcome another child into their family. They enjoy sports, family time, crafts, and reading. Kurt and Krissy Von Tish are a kind, thoughtful, and loving couple who reside in Richmond, VA. They have been married for 10 years. Kurt is employed fulltime as a Senior Technical Editor and Krissy is a fulltime Senior Marketing Coordinator for Quinn Evans. They believe their role is to keep a child safe and healthy while giving them the tools to navigate the world and interact with other people. Having been diagnosed and treated for depression and anxiety, they understand the patience and work needed to ensure a successful placement. Adam and Cindy Deuell are friendly, creative, and committed to growing their family through adoption. They reside in Newport News, VA and have been married for 4 years. Silvia has two children from a previous marriage, one of which lives in the home. The Mazaya family has wanted to adopt from foster care for several decades and they feel they’re prepared to provide therapeutic parenting. Angela Williams is a kind and caring single female who lives in Woodbridge, VA. She enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, shopping, watching tv, and being home with her two dogs. Angela is a clinical psychologist, acting as a Behavioral Health Officer in the United States Public Health Service. Angela is motivated to adopt by her own story of being adopted at the age of 2. She has been thoughtful about her own adoption experience and hopes to build from that as she parents.
